Bill also attended polio clinics under the guidance of Dr. Sophia Chun, who provided the following comments,

 

"As the Chief of the Post Polio Clinic at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center for 17 years, I have had an opportunity to work with many orthotists.  I have found William to be one of the best and most creative orthotist I have worked with.  I have worked with William since 2005 as the lead post polio orthotist at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center.  Post polio patient have one of the most complex bracing needs and as the post polio patients have full sensation, any minor adjustments and changes to the brace is duly noted which makes it critical for the polio orthotist to be highly skilled and knowledgeable about the entire mechanics of the gait cycle.  William is an outstanding orthotist who not only met the challenges of post polio bracing but has gone above and beyond and developed a technique to help many patients with knee instability.  I consider William an expert in his field.  His expertise in post polio bracing not only helps post polio patients but any patients with complex bracing needs. I believe William's understanding and knowledge of the clinical biomechanics of gait is a unique skill set that can be used to design and fabricate braces for many patients with mobility impairments.  In addition to William's skills and expertise, William is a compassionate and caring professional who is well respected by his peers and his patients."
